In receipt of the precious mala. Worth it to spend the extra and get it here quickly. I opened the package and wept for joy as I held the seeds for the first time. It was as if meeting a primordial friend, one who had been with me intangibly for ages, and just now in this incarnation, is with me in a more tangible way.

I have a sanskrit prayer used as a pilgrim puts on the seeds and takes them off.  I had thought there would be knots between each seed, but I trust you, and feel as though providence lead me to the one most qualified to be the agent for getting this into my hands.

I have a lingam stone sent from close to mount Kailash that means a lot to me, and a small cymbal, and a book of mudras. With these, the mala completes my artifact collection for prayer, worship, chanting, meditation. May they be protected for a long season of seeking and realization.

I always find the best rosary (mala) for Buddhist, but in Tibetan Buddhism we need different rosary when we practice the different methods. So I find  “ DESTINATION OM ”, the mala they made can use for all methods.  In Taiwan we call it dragon eye bodhi or triangle bodhi. I am also a buddhist, in fact.

I am currently taking care of a stupa conserving relics of 7th Changchia Hutuktu, a great Guru of  Gelugpa in Tibetan Buddhism. In 1957, he reached nirvana and was cremated in Beitou District, Taipei, Taiwan.  He is also the Buddhist Master of all emperors in Qing Dynasty. Moreover, he is not only one of the Four Dharma Kings in Gelugpa, but also the most prestigious Dharma Kings in Gelugpa and the most prestigious Dharma King in Inner Mongolia (please read my blog for more information).

Hello there! I have been meditating for a few years now and I used to visit your site quite often. It has been a while since I've been there but I just finished looking over it again. Looks nice! I was wondering... where are the videos that instruct in the use of mantra chanting? Those were quite a resource for me when I was just beginning practice. In fact, following your instructions for Om Mani Padme Hung brought me into DEEP contact with Avalokitasvara and, honestly, changed my life. I'm sure you know what I am talking about when I say "DEEP contact". I don't chant as much as I used to (because I go right into meditation and chanting kind of gets in the way, though I still chant sometimes), but I don't think I would be as far along the path as I am now if I had not had the help of your videos. I am further along the path now. I've had the help of a Guru to guide me in my practice, though I am still not an "official" devotee. Thanks for your help. I guess you have your own reasons for no longer posting the vids, which I can only guess at. Am I wrong? Are your vids still on the site and I couldn't find them? I had been looking for a lotus seed mala for a while but I hadn´t found one with the proper design. I was looking for a tool with mystical origin, made by people who really know what they are doing and have a certain consciousness. The Energy they put into their work is because it is something that I will be using for my practice on a daily basis, I didn't just want threaded beads like a souvenir necklace.

After reading Gaurang´s story of where he learned to make the malas, and how he collects his supplies all over the world following the local traditions, and how he is into spiritual practices, it made me realize that I had found a place and an artist that could bring a real mala to life.

I got in touch with them and had almost immediate response, even though Gaurang was on his pilgrimage, Catherine was of great service. The purchase was made and on the tenth day the package with the three malas I ordered was received on my front door.

When I opened the package I was stunned, the product completely surpassed my expectations, they were far better than in the pictures (obviously). These malas really have a meaning and each one has unique characteristics according to the materials used in their crafting.

I can tell you that I am a very satisfied costumer regarding quality, variety, price, time of delivery and service (so is my wife since one was for her). I am extremely pleased with my custom mala that Brian made and shipped from Bodhgaya in June 2008.  While searching for mala information, I found Brian and his helpful videos posted on YouTube.  These videos led me to DestinationOM.com and their wide selection of malas and other prayer tools.  I was interested in a simple custom mala design and browsed the hundreds of mala photos on DestinationOM.com to gather ideas.  Brian always replied promptly in our email exchanges while determining the design.  He then provided detailed photos of the finished mala which allowed me to either request further changes or approve the design.  Brian got it right the first time; the mala he made was just what I was looking for.  Brian’s “stretcher” slip knot is a welcome feature for adjusting the bead spacing and it works very well.

Firstly, allow me to say that when it comes to creating a personal and custom mala, Brian is a champion. After a few emails back and forth, Brian had drawn up the plans for my mala. Every request I made was received and answered. I've never experienced a more pleasant exchange in my dealings.

I searched far and wide for a mala that would combine being spiritually fulfilling and discreet enough to be practical while at work. Destination Om had exactly what I was looking for. My Bodhgaya lotus seed wrist mala has already encountered the harshest environs and it stands up exceptionally well. The quality is masterful. I had some concerns about the slipknot and whether it would hold but it has vastly exceeded original expectations.
This is a first quality design. Very strong.

I had THE BEST experience getting my mala!!!

I had done an internet search for custom malas because I really wanted one that was truly special and one of a kind.This site came up .I was hoping to find a place that could make one from REAL sandalwood as I had read alot on the internet about it being harder and harder to find the real thing. When I clicked on their sandalwood malas they were open about this issue and the fact they were in India to get the real thing so I trusted them with my purchase. The communication was outstanding, regular emails about the design, status and eventually pictures.

The mala shipped quickly and was lovely...I then received an email about a week or so later that they had discovered the sandalwood beads were actually fakes, so they re-made (with GENUINE BEADS) new malas at no extra cost and replaced mine. They told us to keep the fakes to show others how easy it was to be fooled and what to look for.

The mala was even more stunning and I have to say as soon as I opened the package I was overwhelmed by a very peacful calm sensation.I have heard that about sandalwood and now know it to be true. I could not possibly be happier with my purchase! I trust them,they do beautiful work and are just wonderful people to deal with.

In my opinion these very smooth lotus seed wrist malas are the best item for a lay practitioner. This is because when your chanting is disrupted the mala can be easily moved between the hand and wrist. Also if you always wear a mala bracelet the opportunity of practice is always near.

Brian is an absolute pleasure to work with. His malas retain a traditional craftsmanship that is found nowhere else. His care with the construction of the mala is wonderful, and the finished product genuinely reflects the process of crafting with thoughtfulness.
Brian uses true beads for his malas (be they Bodhi, lotus, sandalwood, et cetera), unlike many other sites out there who simply claim their beads are real. Again, I cannot proclaim enough how pleasurable it was to have my custom mala crafted by Brian. My thanks to him and the spirit that drives him.

A mala is such a personal aspect of one's practice.  Brian understands this and he treated the making of my mala as if he were creating it for himself - it stays very personal.
