Devadaru

Devadaru wood, also known as Deodar cedar wood or Himalayan cedar wood, is derived from the Cedrus deodara tree, native to the western Himalayas.  Its name comes from the Sanskrit term Devadāru, meaning "Wood of the Gods", combining deva (god) and dāru (wood or tree), reflecting its sacred status in Hinduism and Ayurveda. 

The wood is often distilled into essential oil used in aromatherapy for relaxation, stress relief, and improving sleep. It is also used to make incense sticks, mala beads, and ritual items like tilakams (forehead markings). It is believed to purify space and enhance spiritual focus.
